We’re a locally owned bait and tackle shop, right on the creek inside Skinner’s Marina.

Most mornings that means bunker and coffee before the sun is up. Some days it means a spark plug, because the day already went sideways.

We work on boats, too

Selling bait is half of it. From a spring tune-up to shrink wrap in the fall, we keep boats running and looking right. Call or stop in and we will get it sorted.

General Boat Maintenance

Engine and systems winterized, boat wrapped tight for the off-season.

Detailing

We open before the tide does

Doors open at 5 AM Saturday and Sunday, 6 AM every weekday. Grab your bait and coffee and still make the run out to the inlet.

Holiday hours and weather closings can change. Give us a call if you are not sure.

From the Chum Crew

Welcome to The Chum Bucket, from the Chum Crew!

Matt, Tim, Ethan and Danny are four childhood friends who grew up on this stretch of the Jersey Shore, fishing and hunting it since we were kids.

Between us we have the knowledge, the experience and the stubbornness to run the kind of shop we always wanted to walk into. Somewhere you can get bait that is actually fresh, a straight answer about what is running, and a coffee while you sort out your morning.

We are just getting started, which means we need everyone’s opinions and ideas. If there is a bait you want stocked, a brand you swear by, or something we could be doing better, tell us. We are open to any and all suggestions.
